The Institute of Sonic Infiltration exists to introduce sound that was never asked for and, by design, is never noticed. We do not study silence, because silence was never on offer. Every session is analyzed with full rigor and blended in with total confidence.
Pressing the button initiates a brief scan of theoretical ambient conditions, followed by a continuous tone tuned to a frequency the Institute considers appropriate. It does not get louder. It does not fade. Recalibration is available at any time, and changes nothing you would be able to describe afterward.
The Acoustic Camouflage Rating has read 100% since the Institute's founding and is not expected to read anything else. It is not a measurement in the conventional sense. It is a statement of confidence, restated continuously for as long as the hum continues.
The Institute does not accept reports of having heard the hum, as no such reports have ever been substantiated. Local silencing is permitted for personal comfort, but does not affect the hum's official status, which continues elsewhere regardless.
